The Doshi EVOLUTION Monoblock V3.0

What does performance mean to you? Is it simply a matter of sound quality, or is there more? At Doshi Audio, performance begins with sonic perfection but must also extend to ease of use, visual beauty, longevity, and the ability to flourish in the widest possible variety of systems.

The Doshi Evolution Monoblock Amplifier will change your perception of what a tube amplifier can achieve. Our Stereophile©-rated Class A amplifiers harnesses the power of its four KT150 tubes to output a massive 160 WPC. The unique circuit design of the Monoblock allows it to compete with the very best solid state amps in terms of speed, eerily black background, dynamics, and bass slam. At the same time, our Monoblock is not just about brawn. It conveys the beauty and magic of the music for which tubes are known by brining to light the shape and texture to transients, color to timbre, and humanity to voices. Carried over from the amplifier’s ease-of-use via front panel push button bias settings and microprocessor control and protection.

Built upon the world-wide acclaim of the Doshi V3 Monoblock, the Evolution embodies many significant improvements. Perhaps the most significant  improvements are to the power supply. The Evolution uses a larger transformer, passive power factor correction, schottky rectifiers, larger power supply capacitors, and redesigned input and driver circuitry for lower feedback, higher bandwidth. Other significant improvements include the strategic implementation of custom ClarityCap© CMR capacitors and a new aluminum constrained layer top provides better vibration isolation.

At Doshi, Performance begins with sound quality but doesn’t end there. Equipped with both both Single-ended (RCA) and Balanced (XLR) inputs, Doshi Monoblocks feature a 50kOhm input impedance. The result? Doshi amplifiers excel in virtually all systems, regardless of connectivity or electrical characteristics. Also residing on the back panel, the “Mute” function uses microprocessors to block signal at both input and output, facilitating cable changes and system maintenance. And since even esoteric stereo systems must now be "Control Friendly,“ an optically isolated 12 Volt Trigger Loop enables the amplifiers to be turned on and off remotely.

Doshi understands that components must be seen as well as heard; therefore, they pay considerable attention to create products that are as beautiful to the eye as to the ear. The chassis of the Monoblock is deceptively simple, while their Three Stage Decoupling (TM) technology virtually eliminates the influence of both external and internal resonances upon the amplifiers‘ performance. Inside the chassis, critical audio circuits are point-to-point wired and mounted on an acoustically isolated sub-chassis. The entire chassis is suspended from a ½“ thich slab of DuPont Corian which, in turn, floats upon four vibration absorbing feet that are mechanically decoupled from the chassis. While competitors build their enclosures from mild steel and aluminum, Doshi uses extremely strong 14 gauge stainless steel to create a chassis that is mechanically and electrically inert; as a result, these amplifiers exude quality while providing an ideal foundation for performance.

Elegantly simple, the Doshi Monoblock’s engraved aluminium front panel announces the quality of the circuitry within while facilitating output tube biasing and other critical functions. A variety of  Powder Coat or chrome-plated finishes encourage the customer to tailor the amplifier to his/her tastes and room decor: a potential for personal expression which few of our competitors can equal. In another design flourish that all Doshi owners will hear—but few will ever see—the insides of our transformer covers are coated with an advanced sound-deadening paint developed to make nuclear submarines “Invisible!”

The Doshi Monblock is the culmination of decades of research regarding circuit design, product longevity, resonance control, system compatibility, user-friendliness and aesthetic beauty. While many fine products excel in one or another aspect of performance, we believe that Doshi’s ability to deliver a completely satisfying ownership experience is unique . We hope you’ll agree.
