Apertura Swing

The design of SWING was dictated by Apertura’s desire to combine the performance of their most sophisticated loudspeakers and integrate them into a bookshelf format.

Just like for SENSA, Apertura have developed a new shape which combines an original, sober and elegant design while preserving an optimum load volume.

A versatile speaker, SWING can be used on a stand, integrated into a bookcase or simply placed on a piece of furniture. It will thus find its place in all interiors, including the smallest.

DRIVE UNITS

• 16cm “Isotactic Matrix” woofer like Armonia, Edena, and their big sisters. This composite material is made of braided polypropylene blades, resulting in a light, rigid and highly cushioned cone.

• Equipped with a long voice coil this transducer is capable of an astonishing linear excursion for a speaker of this size.

• The other particularity of this HP is an original suspension equipped with radial stiffeners which reduce parasitic resonances.

• The restitution of the high register is entrusted to one of the members of the famous “Ring Radiator” tweeter family. In addition to its very particular membrane profile, it has a waveguide cone in the central part and a damped rear decompression cavity. The result is a extended frequency response both downwards for easier coupling with the mid bass, and upwards to almost 40kHz.

Crossover

• Proprietary “DRIM” technology, with triple attenuation slopes.

• This technology allows an absence of intermodulation on each of the branches of the filter, resulting in unrivaled purity and finesse.

• Quality level of components as high as Sensa.

• Measurements of each speaker set (Bass/mid & tweeter) and pairing/adjustment of the filter based on these measurements.

• Wiring entirely by hand on 140µm copper printed circuit.

• Filter structure optimized to avoid magnetic interference between components.

ENCLOSURE

• Introduction of a new body profile with, as always, the main objective of reducing parasitic emissions in the most stressed surfaces (rear side in particular)

• Significant wall thicknesses (18mm)

• Internal double-cavity structure equipped with an internal stiffener to stiffen the structure and create very specific areas where treatments can be applied.

• Speaker whose optimized bass reflex loading allows you to obtain an astonishing low cutoff frequency for a speaker of this size.

• Very important processing of internal volumes to cancel all stationary modes. Use of two different cushioning materials.

• Three finishing levels available:

  • Satin finish: light oak, American walnut

  • Lacquered: white, black

• Magnetic grille with invisible fixings.
