The SAFIR 12 represents a bold leap in tonearm design — featuring the world’s first conical sapphire arm tube. Known for its extraordinary rigidity and natural resonance control, sapphire offers unmatched mechanical stability, remaining resonance-free up to 5 kHz. This gives the cartridge generator a remarkably stable and inert platform — a true mechanical “ground” for extracting maximum detail from your vinyl playback.

Due to sapphire’s high density, the SAFIR 12 achieves a high effective mass, ideal for pairing with low-compliance cartridges.

Drawing from the proven success of the SAFIR 9 and 4Point series, the bearing assembly in the SAFIR 12 is an evolution of Kuzma’s advanced design — offering ultra-low friction and precision movement, free from play.

The sapphire tube is mounted within a solid structure of aluminum and brass, ensuring exceptional mechanical damping and structural integrity. A twin-section brass counterweight with locking mechanism provides precise balancing. Azimuth adjustment is easily accessible and allows for fine, repeatable tuning using an Allen key — with zero mechanical slack.

Designed for the Kuzma 12” mount, the SAFIR 12 incorporates a dedicated VTA tower integrated into the armbase, allowing for smooth, accurate, and repeatable vertical tracking adjustments.

Internal wiring features a special silver alloy, configured as a continuous run from the headshell clips to your choice of high-quality RCA or XLR connectors — ensuring signal purity and minimizing connection loss.
