The PP-Mono model was introduced on Phasemation's 10th anniversary of the brand establishment and as the culmination of more than a decade of cartridge development.
PP-Mono was created for audiophiles who are "mono" fans looking for more from their mono recordings and is a firm favourite of analogue audiophiles. After the long development period, Phasemation has successfully created almost ultimate harmony between 'the midrange-treble-part with high freshness' and 'the resonant bass part' for a monaural cartridge. Like it's siblings, it's mid to treble frequencies are extremely fresh and its bass is rich and harmonic.
Main features
Newly-designed Magnetic System
The appearance and material of the magnetic system are newly designed for high efficiency and high resolution for monaural reproduction. An aluminium pipe cantilever is employed which is extremely light and rigid and with excellent capabilities for tracing a monaural signal. By combining this with a mono-specific designed magnetic coil, the recreation of an exceptionally expressive soundstage and freshness has been successfully realised. Sound qualities perviously difficult to obtain in conventional monaural cartridges.
Strong Body Structure
PP-Mono uses a combination of both stainless steel and duralumin for the cartridge base and body. In addition, A DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating is applied; further enhancing the structures excellent rigidity and vibration-damping characteristics.
Inheriting the Materials for High Quality Audio Sound
PP-Mono inherits the generator materials from the highly awarded PP-1000: samarium-cobalt magnet, magneto coil made of 6N oxygen-free copper wire and pure iron coil bobbin.
